Monkey Valentine's Card: More love for I Feel the Love

Happy Saturday, my dear friends! I hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful weekend! :o) Thank you for your sweet anniversary wishes toward my parents... 50 years ago today they were married in the midst of a snow storm! Even then, no storm could stop their love. :o) I'm happy to say they adore the swan card I made them. :o)

An uncharacteristically short post from me today! I've had to switch gears back to children's goodies to add to my contribution toward this month's I Feel the Love Project. We have been creating Valentines for the six or seven children who survived the Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy last month, thanks to their heroic teacher Vicki Soto... January's collection is in her honor. It has been incredible making them surprises the past few weeks!

Kiddos love monkeys, so I made a colorful little Valentine scene.
The Create a Critter monkey is offering his sparkling heart in one hand.. and his treasured banana in the other! Surely the child will know just how much it means for a monkey to share his banana. ;) I sprinkled a trail of bananas behind the sparklified Memory Box Spring Border. The Wall Decor and More tree is embossed with the Swiss Dots folder and swirling with love via heart rhinestones. I hope it engulfs the sweet kid who receives it. The background paper is from the Doodlebug Lovebirds collection, where every adorable bird is tweeting their love for everyone impacted by that event.

Love abounds inside as well, along with an extra surprise monkey. :o)
The Whimsical Designs sentiment is from the With Love set, layered upon a Spellbinders Lattice Rectangle base. I hope this card encourages a smile to the little one who needs all the extra love possible. :o)

We are also creating cards for Vicki's grieving family, which I will spend this weekend doing. There are still a few days left to participate, so I hope you'll consider joining us. :o)

Challenges entered:
*Cupcake Craft Challenge~ Make a Scene
*DL.Art~ Thankful Thursday: Use Red or Pink
 *Paper Playtime~ Use Brown

Thank you for swinging on by! I wish a beautiful day of love and light. :o)

  2. Hello to my Sweetest Angelic Friend,
I was making changes on my blog and adding a blog list.I want to assure myself that I do not miss anyone's posts.Especially those that are so close to my heart. :-)
As I was adding your link I saw this Super Duper Cute Monkey card!So here is a story. When my nephew was in elementary school,I would always partcipate in any activity that had to do with him.He would always ask me too.He would say "Titi, you are so much FUN and the kids in my class Love you",that why I ask you and not my mom..shhhh!do not tell mommy...LOL..I would ALWAYS laugh because my sister knew.So one of his 1st songs to learn was the one about "No more monkeys jumping on the bed",which is my favorite. Its my favorite because whenever I hear it or see anything with monkeys I always visualize him jumping on my bed and singing this monkey song.He was 5 then and now he is 20.How time flies by.....Till today he sits on my lap and I ask him to sing the song,he replies,"Titi I am big now(older)and I answer and "you will always be my baby so hurry up and sing me my monkey song"..LOL..We both laugh and then he sings me my song.I am blessed with such a wonderful amd loving nephew. This card is adorable and so SWEET and it went straight to my heart. It allowed my to reminece. The spring border is Beautiful! And love that you added the bananas on the grass..LOL..That is so FUNNY!The monkey is Simply Adorable!LOVE!LOVE!LOVE!
The kids will love this card as much as I do!
Thank you for always being you and now I am wiping my happy tears as always.....
Sending a SUPER HUGE amount of my BLOGGIE Love to you,
    Your Angelic Friend,

  7. Absolutely adorable, and this will bring tons of smiles to the kiddies that survived and still maybe going through some hardship dealing with their own emotions... I'm sure all the cards you've made will lighten their spirits and look ahead being positive and not dwell on the trauma they have experience...It may be easy for anyone of us outsider's to say we can only forgive and forget but not being in the predicament at that time is a totally different story to overcome.....
Anyhow the monkey is such a cute card, he or she can swing for branch to branch and put great giggles for a temporary healing. Love it Karen and your cards always have special touches and details to them...
TFS and have yourself a wonderful weekend my friend.....
