Joy to the World

Happy Friday, sweet friends! I'm on the Live & Love Crafts blog today with my take on Sandy's holiday theme. My heart couldn't resist an opportunity to indulge in Christmas joy. :o)

This is for a special recipient who has endured far more than anyone should. Although my post is short, the love packed into the card is immeasureable. ♥︎
I used A Gift for You, which is Maja Design's traditional Christmas collection. The base shape is Go Kreate's Large Frame Frilly #10, which is topped with Maja's Given from the Heart pattern. I was drawn to the gorgeous deep red and white Christmas stars. The sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Joy to the World stamp set (no longer produced), which is cut with an altered Spellbinders Nested Lacey Pennant.
Beneath all of the goodies is the lovely Isabelle lace, which I seem to use quite often! The beautiful focal point image is from the Die Cut sheet, which I've encircled in Shabby White Frantage and a tiny pom trim. A blanket of snow rests along the bottom of my card, courtesy of Shabby Chiffon Ruffle Trim topped with Sunflower Pearl Trim. The Memory Box My Precious Snowflakes in the corner are covered in Glamour Dust and centered with a Sunflower Pearl.
The poinsettias (made with the Cheery Lynn Poinsettia Strip) are sprinkled with Shabby White Frantage for a touch of snow mixed with holiday gold. Their centers are Frosted Berries in Bordeaux, which add the prettiest sparkly dimension. Memory Box Frosted Spruce Trees are made snowy with Polar White Flower Soft. The card's interior is lined with the Underneath the Christmas Tree design.

Thank you for visiting! Have a wonderful day. :o)

Christmas in the Heart

Hello, sweet friends! I'm posting again today on the My Craft Spot blog, bringing some seasonal joy! Christmas is my favorite everything and I couldn't wait a moment longer to indulge in festive elegance. :o)

I made a card and tag set for a very special friend and had such a fun time filling it with lots of sappy love. :o)
This started with Kimberly's gorgeous Christmas sentiment from the Joy to the World stamp set.
It's such a beautiful greeting. The snowflake flourish above it is from Ornate Labels- Christmas. I framed it in 'snowy' Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and sparkly jingly bells. My bouquet consists of Pink Mist and white roses, hip rosebuds, and cosmo daisies. I always love using their gorgeous blooms! I sprinkled them with Polar White Flower Soft for a fluffy touch of snow. Both pearl trims are also from WOC.
I also used several Cheery Lynn Designs products. The pretty base frames are the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames, my snowflakes are from their snowflake set, and the snowy vines in my bouquet are Mini Fanciful Flourishes. Memory Box dies create my peaceful scene along the bottom: Frosted Spruce Tree (accented with Flower Soft) and part of the Deer Trio, frolicking along a pearly trail of snow.
The coordinating gift tag base is a Marianne Design die, which I decorated with several of Kimberly's goodies! I truly love the Clock Time stamp set, so I used it for my focal point to declare it officially Christmas Day. My clock is atop a Tiny Doilies 2 metal die base, which reminds me of a snowflake. More WOC flowers and Cheery Lynn snowflake/flourish dies surround it.
Merry Christmas is from Joy to the World and the sweet holly corners are from Ornate Labels- Christmas. They are colored with Copics and sprinkled with Glamour Dust. (Glamour Dust also covers every snowflake because I cannot stop using it.) I made the large layered snowflake on top of the tag with two dies from the Flowers- Daisy set, which rests atop Petal Pink and Vanilla Bean crinkle ribbon. Each of the three layers are popped up with foam tape for dimension.

My papers are from Pion Design's Silent Night, which are so lovely in person. I hope it fills my friend's heart with heavenly joy. :o)
Thank you for fluttering on by and I wish you a blessed day! :o)

Blast from the Past at My Craft Spot!

Happy Monday, sparkly friends! I hope your week is off to a lovely start! :o)

Today begins a new challenge at My Craft Spot! My teamie Kate had an amazing idea to have a challenge showcasing a favorite project we made in the past using My Craft Spot products! How fun is that?! I've seen so many of you make fabulous projects with Kimberly's goodies, so I hope you play along. I'm excited to see what you link up!

There was zero internal debate about my choice for this challenge. My Christmas Shadow Box Book Card from last year remains my favorite. What made this project extra special is that it was for my Guest Designer day at My Craft Spot and also was a gift to my sweetest friend. I'm happy to say she loved it as much as I do. :o)
Because this is picture heavy, I'll keep my non-MCS babble to a minimum and refer you to my original post for all of the details. The cover and spine feature stamps from the Ornate Labels- Christmas set. The white snowflake flourish on the spine was heat-embossed for texture.
My front sentiment is also from that gorgeous set, which was cut out with the coordinating Ornate Labels metal dies.
The frame was heat-embossed in gold and I paired the greeting with one of the other lovely flourishes. It's such a pretty set! I couldn't resist adding a few beautiful Wild Orchid Crafts roses.
Inside, a heavenly dance of joy for the blessed season. I used a delightful combination of goodies from My Craft Spot, Marianne Design, and Cheery Lynn Designs to create the interior.
The divine sentiment is from Kimberly's Joy to the World set. That stamp set is one of my favorites, as it so beautifully captures and celebrates the true meaning of Christmas.
My pretty ballerina, adorned in festive sparkles and a snowy tutu of hope.
The finished back, where I used one of my Marianne Design dies as book hinges:
Pirouette on over to My Craft Spot to see what some of my teamies chose as their favorites! We love seeing your creations, so choose your favorite MCS card/project and play along with us this week. :o) Have a blessed day!

Anything Goes at 7 Kids College Fund!

Happy Wednesday, my dear friends! I hope you're having a beautiful week! :o)

A new Anything Goes challenges begins today at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog! Although you can create anything your heart desires, the Design Team added a twist to our contributions this week. We're playing with die cuts!

7 Kids offers so many beautiful metal dies. I decided to feature one of my all-time favorite sets in a small wall hanging: Petra's Heart by Marianne Design.
Much of this is tonal, so it's not the easiest to see unless enlarged. If you look closely, you'll see I sprinkled in some gorgeous Memory Box Precious Snowflakes. They are nestled beneath all of the Wild Orchid Crafts roses.
My heart was feeling festive, as it so often does, and I particularly enjoy this die set for Christmas creations. I used one of the wonderful My Craft Spot Christmas stamp sets that I adore: Joy to the World. I love this sentiment and its design, and it rests so perfectly within the heart of my creation.

While it is always fun to add tons of layers, one of the beautiful things about metal dies like this is that they can shine on their own. To showcase the exquisite embossing, I inked them with Tim Holtz Barn Door distress ink.
I also used Barn Door to make my white flowers two-tone and covered my snowflakes in Star Dust for a wintry twinkle. I used jump rings between the dies and a line of rhinestones between the smaller heart and fluttering snowflake. (I honestly don't know what I was thinking in using a white backdrop for this, except that I liked that it felt snowy!)

You have two weeks to play along with us at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog, so I hope you'll join in! We love seeing your inspiring creations. :o) Be sure to visit my DT sisters to see their marvelous projects with metal dies! :o) Have a blessed day!
