Christmas in July at Deep Ocean Challenge!

Hello, sweet friends! It's time for a fun new challenge at Deep Ocean and we're getting festive! We are celebrating Christmas in July and I couldn't be happier. ♥︎

I used this opportunity to begin my cards for teens and children spending the holidays battling monster diseases. Some families celebrate the moment it becomes apparent their child will not be here come December (barring a miracle at the midnight hour). Often the kids want one more Christmas celebration, so I need to make them early to be prepared for sudden delivery.
This card is for a teen cancer warrior that I have come to deeply love. She is sweet and sparkly and I have created for her before. She is a little fashionista and loves all things beauty. She spent her birthday this year in a coma and although she awoke after a few weeks, she is obviously in a dire condition. Christmas may come early this year so I want her card ready.

She loves everything girly, frilly, sparkly, and happy... so this cutie pie stamp (A Girl Can't Have Too Many) from All Dressed Up was perfect for her! I gave her a festive twist to make her Santa's helper and surrounded her in snowflake flourishes glistening in love. I was going to fix her hair which I messed up quite severely while experimenting with a new Copic color combination, but I opted against it. The recipient will love her as is.
I used papers from Pion Design's Christmas in Norway, largely due to those precious heart snowflakes. ♥︎ They and most of the trims and embellishments are from Live & Love Crafts. The Red Hot Love crinkle ribbon is from my sweet friend Diana at DL.Art, which is topped with sparkly jingly bells. My stamp is cut out and layered with the LDRS Creative Gilded Oval. Magnolia Fern and Snowflake dies are tucked in throughout.

My sentiment and snowflake stamps are from My Craft Spot (no longer in business). Thank you for fluttering on by and I wish you a beautiful day. ♥︎

Santa's Coming

Happy Friday, sweet friends! I hope you're having a beautiful week. I'm posting on the Live & Love Crafts blog today, sharing a card inspired by the classic Santa Claus is Coming to Town. He's enlisted the help of some cutie pies, too. ♥︎ This will soon be on its way to lift the spirits of disheartened parents.
My papers are from Pion Design's Christmas in Norway, which celebrates traditional colors with a touch of whimsy. My card base is made with Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles, which I've topped with a Spellbinders Floral Oval. I made the oval a frame and popped it up with foam tape.
This darling little scene is from Santa is Coming. I hung a few stockings for Santa's helpers to fill, which hang from a Pearl String garland and are secured with Sunflower Pearl Trim. Their base is the lovely Isabelle lace. My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
A few of my favorite ivory trims are layered on the bottom and the sweet A Gift for You charm dangles from Natural Hemp. These papers are precious and stand well on their own when in a crafty time crunch, as I was this week. :o) Thank you for visiting and I wish you a beautiful weekend. ♥︎

Christmas Bell

Happy Friday, sweet friends! I'm posting on the Live & Love Crafts blog today, where the DT has been sharing favorite occasions this week. It's time for more festivity because Christmas is my favorite everything. ♥︎
Showcasing the beautiful church from Pion Design's Christmas in Norway collection, I created a bell for my mom to hang from her Christmas tree or wherever she pleases. The church was cut out with a Spellbinders Standard Circle (small) and layered on a Picot Edge Circle. I paired it with papers from Maja Design's A Gift for You, as the red is such a lovely contrast and I adore the Christmas stars.
A dusting of snow with flecks of gold were added to most of the papers via Shabby White Frantage. A shabby 10mm Jingle Bell was used for the clapper, which is attached with Natural Hemp. A wintry breeze of Shabby Chiffon trim ruffles around the base, centered with Sunflower Pearl trim. The Cheery Lynn Designs poinsettia die is centered with Frosted Berries and surrounded with Flower Sprays and Pomegranate Apples (in Wine Pudding and Vanilla Cupcake). The snowflakes are also from Cheery Lynn.
The back is finished off with snowy trim and sweet Christmas birdies. ♥︎ I hope she enjoys it. :o)

Thank you for visiting and I wish you a beautiful weekend. :o)

Sweet Christmas

Happy Friday, sweet friends! I'm posting on the Live & Love Crafts blog today, where we've been playing with Pion Design's new Christmas in Norway paper collection. It's a nice combination of whimsical and elegance.

I opted for the sweeter side, using one of the little Christmas darlings. ♥︎
Fluttering snowflakes surround him, where graduating pearls connect Pearl Snowflakes from the Sunflower Pearl Trim. The beautiful Pearl Lace with Beads lines the bottom as snow. My base is made with Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle. The ultra sparkly snowflakes and fern are Magnolia dies.
My festive arrangement rests atop Coco lace and includes sweet cinnamon sticks, which I've sprinkled with Glamour Dust and tied with red Natural Hemp. Tucked in and around are sparkling Beaded Pomegranate Apples in Cranberry Sauce. The sentiment is cut down from one of the Borders and trimmed in Glamour Dust (as are most things)!
A peek inside to show the precious All in a Row paper, which I love for its red and green heart-shaped snowflakes. ♥︎

Thank you for fluttering on by! Have a beautiful weekend. :o)
