Sprinkled with Love

Hello, sweet friends! I hope you're having a sparkly day. :o)

Last week I mentioned the precious family I found via a Prayer Page while looking for kiddos to pray for. My heart was guided to create for them. I'm happiest using my paper passion to bring love and sunshine to those in need. First I made a card for her parents (found HERE), which I hope they love as much as you all did.

Today I have my card for sweet Audrey, the precious 1.5-year-old child who is battling an abundance of serious health issues... and has been since she was born. It is heartbreaking.

Her beautiful eyes are unable to be opened right now, as she is on a form of life support to help her body heal from some of her health conditions. I wanted something extra bright and cheerful to greet her when she awakes:
The moment I saw this rainbow shaped card cut file on Cardmaking Paradise, I had to make it for Audrey. She endures so much, but I truly believe her rainbow is coming. This is a tangible declaration of it. :o) I wish my pictures were better, but I think the love still shines through.
My papers are from various Doodlebug Designs collections. Wee ones like her love color and patterns, so I used an assortment. My sentiment is from Whimsical Designs, which I stamped upon a sunbeam-filled paper and cut it out with a Spellbinders Nested Lacy Pennant. The enamel dot accents are from Doodlebug's spring assortment.
My sprinkles of love are made with the Memory Box Precious Hearts, which hang from Strawberry Cupcake Trendy Twine. Rather than a simple embossed cloud, I opted to fill it with rainbow butterflies. :o) During these terrifyingly dark days, divine transformation is happening within her. The sun was made with My Craft Spot's Lacy Banners, as I felt a peek of sunshine made this even happier.
The interior is just pink (pure pink love!), so as not to interfere with the patterns when viewed from an angle. I love this little girl with all of my heart and I pray this brings a smile to her fighting heart.

If you want to support this family and follow Audrey's journey, her Facebook prayer page is Audrey's Army. She is approaching 10K prayer warriors and I am honored to be one of them! Want to know something fun? Unbeknownst to me at first, this little angel is just down the road from me. It's nice to bless someone in my area. :o)

Thank you for visiting! I wish you a sunshiny day. :o)

3D Christmas at My Craft Spot!

Happy Monday, sweet friends! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start. :o) Today begins a new challenge at My Craft Spot! We're turning festive with a theme of 3D Christmas! I'm excited to see what you talented peeps link up!

For my project, I made my first ever Christmas Tussie Mussie. (They're also known as Christmas cone ornaments... but it's more fun saying tussie mussie.)
Whenever my mom sees these cones in Victorian or holiday magazines, she turns all dreamy. Since she doesn't own any, I made her one for her Christmas tree. :o) You can fill them with treats or whatever your heart desires. For heartfelt wintry wishes, I combined two Pion Design paper collections: My Precious Daughter (tiny pink hearts for the sentiments) and Silent Night (for the snowflake cone).
Since we're nature lovers, I filled it with nature's beauty. Peace & Joy is from My Craft Spot's O Holy Night stamp set, which I stamped upon the sweet heart paper and cut out with the Lacy Banners metal dies. This is one of my all-time favorite stamp sets from Kimberly! I love it to bits. I inserted a Wild Orchid Crafts crown pearl pin through the lacy banner and nestled it in the arrangement.

My cone is bursting with white and Pink Mist Wild Orchid Crafts roses, along with pine branches and tiny pine cones. For the berries I used pale pink mini poms. Polar White Flower Soft is sprinkled throughout as snow.
My second sentiment is also from O Holy Night, which I cut out with the Ribbon Banners- Wavy metal dies. I love the elegant fonts in this set! I set it atop a heart from Cheery Lynn Designs' Two of Hearts set. The crinkle ribbon for the hanger and bottom detailing is also from My Craft Spot, which I used in shades of Petal Pink and Snow White. The bow is centered with a WOC scalloped pearl.

I used a 3D cone cut file from the Silhouette Online Store for my base, but removed the hearts along the top so I'd have room for my ruffly sheer ribbon. :o) I trimmed it with more roses for a pretty border. Spiraling down the cone is tiny pom trim from JoAnn's, which I paired with a flat-back pearl strand from The Ribbon Girl. A few snowflakes from Cheery Lynn were added at the last minute for extra dimension.
I hope my mom gets as much joy from it as I had creating it. I made it with all of the sparkly Christmas love my heart holds. :o)

Be sure to visit My Craft Spot to see sweet creations from some of my teamies! I hope you can play along with us this week. :o) Thank you for fluttering on by and I wish you a day of love and blessings. :o)

Fancy Edges at My Craft Spot!

Happy Monday, my sweet friends! I hope you had a beautiful weekend! :o)

Today starts a new challenge at My Craft Spot! This week we're playing with fancy edges! I can't wait to see what you create. :o)

I had the girliest of girly cards in mind at the beginning, but then something tugged on my heartstrings. Inspired by the star metal die in Kimberly's new Fancy Edges 2 set, I made a starry superhero card for a sweet boy as part of this month's I Feel the Love Project collection.

In trying and uncertain times, I want one of the precious boys to know that he is a superhero for enduring. :o)
To say I was out of my crafty comfort zone is putting it mildly. ;) But that lovely star edge which Batman stands upon was just calling to me for this exact creation! I layered it so it would stand out despite the alternating black and yellow background. The stars shooting out from him are the cut-outs from the star border die, which are also layered.
My sentiment is from Tiny Tags 2, while the cute starry confetti stamped alongside it is from the new Build A Birthday set. I used two metal dies from the Lacy Banners for its base to make it appear as one of the splash bubble things in comics. :o)

Batman and the sunburst star base are cut files from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I used my Silhouette software to create a card base out of the sunburst cut file, as a star shaped card seemed fitting for a superhero. :o) Everything is popped up with foam tape for lots of dimension. I hope the recipient enjoys it!
Thank you for flying on by! I wish you a sweet and sparkly day! :o)

Sweet Sailboat Card

Happy Thursday, crafty friends! I hope you're having a happy day. :o) I'm posting on the My Craft Spot blog today and am sharing it here, too!

Shaped cards are always amongst my favorites, but I especially love that they pack a sweet punch when you don't have a ton of time available. I wanted to pour a ton of detailing into this, but the clock was against me! That is the beauty in shaped cards...

This little sailboat will soon be fluttering straight into the heart of a precious baby girl named Violet who is in need of extra love and sunshine as she battles leukemia. She is this month's I Feel the Love Project recipient and I already love her with all of my heart.
Because Violet is only 1 year old, I made it bright and whimsical! The sailboat cut file is from the Silhouette Online Store and I decorated it with fun butterfly, heart, and polka dot Doodlebug papers. These sweet butterflies are fluttering over to Violet, guiding the sailboat with a base of love. I added a border of tiny pom pom trim for her tiny little fingers to explore.
The sweet sentiment is from Stamping All Around Spring, which I've cut out with the coordinating Tiny Doilies metal dies and layered with a Tiny Doilies 2 stitched base. My flag on top was created with the Lacy Banners metal die set, which I've adorned with her sweet name. Kids always love personalization. :o)

The shadow of my card is bright yellow for a sunshiny background, as I want all of her days to be filled with heavenly light. I added a few Bo Bunny rhinestone flourishes to the heart bottom as sparkling waves... or as a reflection of the glimmering sunbeams dancing on the water's surface. This sailboat is guided by and built upon love. I hope it makes this sweet child smile. :o)

Thank you for sailing on by and I wish you a blessed day! :o)

Cute as a Bunny!

Hello, my sweet friends! I'm happy to be posting on the My Craft Spot blog today. :o)

For my project, I made a bright and cheerful card for a very special child. This month the I Feel the Love Project is spreading love and sunshine to children who are abused, neglected, and at-risk. Our contributions are being sent to a fabulous nonprofit center (Tennyson Center for Children) who works with such children. IFTL is collecting birthday cards for the kids, as well as general encouraging/cheerful cards for moments when a child or staff member is having a difficult day. What a privilege to create for such a cause.

Driven by the desire to give any (and every) reason for one of the children to smile, I made a sweet little scene filled with bright colors and designs. :o)
Many of these elements are typically "Easter" in theme, but my purpose in using them is just for general sweetness. Should it be viewed as Easter, that would be fine... it would show the recipient that I was thinking of them during this festive time. :o) It's not rare for me to get emotional during IFTL work and that proved the case with this one. It's nearly unbearable to think of children being harmed, so I tried to channel that heartache into making the happiest card possible.
The adorable duckie in the egg cut file is from the Easter Quacks collection from Treasure Box Designs. I used a sweet sentiment from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring 2 as part of the egg design, which I've cut out with the coordinating Tiny Doilies metal dies. The adorable Carrot House cut file is from Little Scraps of Heaven, to which I've added MCS Candied Orange crinkle ribbon and Honeydew twine. I made my sun with dies from the Lacy Banners set. The card base shape is from the Silhouette Online store.

I couldn't resist using that adorable bunny paper for the window of my carrot house! Those rambunctious sweethearts are having all sorts of fun inside! Instead of using regular orange for the house, I used adorable carrot paper. All SEVEN of the patterned papers I used on this card are from Doodlebug's Hello Spring collection. I am excited to have it for kiddo cards.

The sentiment along the bottom is from the Big Sentiments 2 stamp set... I wanted to be sure the child knows that I'm sending him/her so many happy thoughts. There is tons of dimension which a side view would have nicely shown, but I was in a rush. I pray it brings the most beautiful smile to a hurting child's heart. It is filled with my and God's love and I have faith that it will serve as the warm embrace I wish I could give.

Thank you for hopping on by! I wish you a beautiful day of love and chocolate. :o)

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and My Craft Spot Co-Blog Hop!

Happy Saturday, my dear friends! Welcome to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and My Craft Spot Spring Blog Hop! Members from the PPPR Design Team and MCS Design Team have come together to share some springiness with you, featuring Lisa's cut files and Kimberly's stamps! Not only does Springy and Eastery inspiration abound, but there are also fabulous prizes. :o)

If you arrived here from the marvelous Brianna, you are in the right place! If you just stumbled upon my blog and would like to start from the beginning, please hop on over to sweet Lisa's blog!

For my project today, I made a center step card for a loved one to welcome Spring. :o)
The center step card is a PPPR cut file, which made it so easy to put together the base. :o) To create my warm weather scene, I used a few elements from PPPR's fantastic Spring Garden collection. The daffodils, tulips, and hummingbird are all from that set. I truly love every single cut file. :o) The flowers are layered and nestled beneath grass, which I've embossed with the Victoria Cuttlebug folder.

This entire design began with the hummingbird! I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. All of the patterned papers throughout my card are from Heartfelt Creations' Sun Kissed collection. I made the hummingbird with several of the blue designs for a pop of blue to match the center of the flowers.
All of the pretty butterflies are from My Craft Spot's Jar Full of Flowers stamp set, which I've colored with Copics, fussy-cut, and covered in Star Dust. I made a warm springtime breeze along the top of the card (via a My Favorite Things Fancy Flourish), upon which two butterflies are fluttering along.

The Springy sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring stamp set, which I've cut out with the coordinating Tiny Doilies metal dies. It is layered upon one of the new (and gorgeous) Tiny Doilies 2 metal dies. My sun was made with two dies from MCS' Lacy Banners set.
