Bags and Boxes at My Craft Spot!

Hello, sweet friends! I apologize for being unable to visit the last few days. My mom had to be hospitalized and after some horrendously scary moments, I'm happy to say she is doing better. I'll be around soon to visit you. ♥

Today begins a fun new challenge at My Craft Spot with the theme of bags and boxes! It's especially lovely giving treats and small presents in homemade gift packaging. I look forward to seeing your creations!

I made a happy little gift bag for a kiddo, along with a coordinating card. My card was playing reindeer games on me, rolling a bit for the group shot. ;)
My box was made with one of Kimberly's marvelous SVG files. This Curvy Box file comes with 3 different window options, or you can cut it solid.
The window is backed with pretty vellum, chosen as it reminds me of snowing love! :o) The festive sentiment is from the Christmas Chalkboard stamp set, which I heat-embossed in wintry blue.
The whimsical (and beautiful!) tree-shaped sentiment is from Merry & Bright, which I stamped in Cottage Ivy and Rich Cocoa Memento inks. It is stamped within a tree cut file from the Silhouette Online Store. My tag is tucked beneath Sky Blue crinkle ribbon and sweet jingly bells.
My card features one of the many fabulous sentiments from Tiny Tags Christmas, which is cut out with the coordinating Tiny Tags metal dies. How I adore this precious stamp set. :o) I attempted some masking to incorporate Lady Bug Red, but then didn't position it perfectly after... sigh!
For my Rudolph, I used the Floppy Reindeer cut file from Little Scraps of Heaven. The Christmas tree is from Spellbinders' Fanciful Holiday, which is accented in Recollections red rhinestones. My snowdrift was made with Marianne Design's Fancy Edge with Lattice and my papers are from Doodlebugs Frosty Friends collection.

Be sure to visit My Craft Spot to see some of my teamies' sweet creations! You have two weeks for this challenge, so I hope you'll play along! :o) Thank you for visiting! Have a blessed day!

Mini Christmas Cards!

Happy Tuesday, dear friends! I'm posting on the My Craft Spot blog today, sharing tiny Christmas blessings!

Craftily speaking, are you feeling the Christmas time crunch? This past weekend was my last chance to add to my contributions for the I Feel the Love Project Christmas recipients. We have been creating for sick children (and their parents) who are spending the holiday in the hospital.

Inspired by the incredibly sweet Tiny Tags Christmas stamp set, I tapped into my simpler side to create a set of mini cards.
Tiny packages... big heart!
All of the beautiful Tiny Tags Christmas sentiments were cut out with the coordinating Tiny Tags metal dies. The precious little mittens are hanging by a bow of Chocolate traditional twine. While I always love adding ribbon to my projects, I especially love it on small cards like this where detailing will innately be minimal. I used Harvest Wine crinkle ribbon here, one of my favorite shades.
The only thing sweeter than a festive cupcake is a miniature version delivered by Santa himself! (How I adore this stamp set!) The swirled frosting is accented with garnet (not black as it appears!) and green rhinestones and topped with sparkling holly and berries. Snow White crinkle ribbon and Chocolate traditional twine are my trims.
Lastly, a happy hot cocoa bear to bring joy to a precious child's heart. The cut file is Yummy Cocoa by KaDoodle Bug Designs. Garnet rhinestones accent the dollops of whipped cream for touches of peppermint. Sky Blue crinkle ribbon serves as a fluttery wintry breeze and touches of Star Dust were added throughout.

My papers are from various Docrafts Papermania collections and my bows are centered with Star Dusted Wild Orchid Crafts roses.
Thank you for fluttering on by! Have a beautiful day. :o)

Friendship Gift Box!

Hello, crafty friends! I'm posting on the My Craft Spot blog today, sharing this pretty little friendship gift box! :o)

Like many of you, I am ecstatic that Kimberly is delving into SVGs! The Present Box cut file is fantastic and the options with it are endless. Ever since I made a Christmas one, I've been antsy to create a non-holiday version. One reason I love this file is that it can be used for any occasion... or just because. :o)

The purpose of this one is to celebrate friendship! I am blessed with an especially lovely friend and I used some of my favorite My Craft Spot products to design her a box of happiness. The slightly dark pictures better portrayed the paper colors, so I kept them as is.
She treasures nature, so frolicking around the box are butterflies from the Jar Full of Flowers stamp set. I colored them with Copics in blues and purples, fussy-cut them out, and sprinkled the wings with Glamour Dust.
The sweet sentiment is from Stamping All Around Spring, which I cut out with the coordinating Tiny Doilies metal dies and layered with one of the gorgeous Tiny Doilies 2 metal dies. The shapes in that set are so beautiful and I always enjoy an opportunity to use one. To hang it, I glued it to the bow portion of the Memory Box Precious Snowflakes set.
The big poofy bow that comes with this cut file is spectacular and I love adding a little surprise to its center. Since the theme of my project is ever-blossoming friendship, I tucked in a rose and placed the tiniest butterfly atop it. She's my special messenger to wish my friend joy every day. :o) (I truly am this sappy.)

The pretty papers are part of an early Christmas gift from my sweetheart. :o) They are from Maja Designs' Vintage Autumn Basics collection and are inked with Walnut Stain distress ink. The sweet roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Have a blessed day! :o)

Sentiment-Focused at My Craft Spot!

Happy December, my sweet friends! I hope you had a sparkly weekend. :o)

Today begins a fun new challenge at My Craft Spot! This week we want to see creations featuring a sentiment as the focal point. With so many gorgeous stamp sets available, the hardest part is choosing one to design around. :o)

I still have several Christmas blessings to make for charity and my loved ones, so I used this challenge to showcase one of my favorite sentiments from Kimberly's newest release. :o)
Doesn't this greeting fill the heart with joy? It is from the O Holy Night stamp set, which I adore! It so beautifully celebrates the true meaning of Christmas. ♥
I framed the heavenly words with snowflake flourishes from Kimberly's Ornate Labels- Christmas stamp set. The lovely papers are from Pion Design's Silent Night collection, which I've been saving for this perfect sentiment. The heartwarming scene is surrounded in nature's beauty, courtesy of stunning flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Pretty crinkle ribbon in Light Denim lies atop a layer of wide lace from The Ribbon Girl. The bow is centered with a Wild Orchid Crafts scalloped pearl and I tucked several Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourishes (right and left) into my flowers.
A little closer in on the bottom blue paper to better show the pretty snowflakes, which are centered with tiny pearls. The heart pearl and metal filigree corner are also from WOC, while my card base was created with Cheery Lynn's Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames. The central focal point is cut out with a Spellbinders Standard Circle (small) and layered upon a Picot Edge Circle.
Thank you for fluttering on by today! I wish you a day of love and joy. :o)

3D Christmas at My Craft Spot!

Happy Monday, sweet friends! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start. :o) Today begins a new challenge at My Craft Spot! We're turning festive with a theme of 3D Christmas! I'm excited to see what you talented peeps link up!

For my project, I made my first ever Christmas Tussie Mussie. (They're also known as Christmas cone ornaments... but it's more fun saying tussie mussie.)
Whenever my mom sees these cones in Victorian or holiday magazines, she turns all dreamy. Since she doesn't own any, I made her one for her Christmas tree. :o) You can fill them with treats or whatever your heart desires. For heartfelt wintry wishes, I combined two Pion Design paper collections: My Precious Daughter (tiny pink hearts for the sentiments) and Silent Night (for the snowflake cone).
Since we're nature lovers, I filled it with nature's beauty. Peace & Joy is from My Craft Spot's O Holy Night stamp set, which I stamped upon the sweet heart paper and cut out with the Lacy Banners metal dies. This is one of my all-time favorite stamp sets from Kimberly! I love it to bits. I inserted a Wild Orchid Crafts crown pearl pin through the lacy banner and nestled it in the arrangement.

My cone is bursting with white and Pink Mist Wild Orchid Crafts roses, along with pine branches and tiny pine cones. For the berries I used pale pink mini poms. Polar White Flower Soft is sprinkled throughout as snow.
My second sentiment is also from O Holy Night, which I cut out with the Ribbon Banners- Wavy metal dies. I love the elegant fonts in this set! I set it atop a heart from Cheery Lynn Designs' Two of Hearts set. The crinkle ribbon for the hanger and bottom detailing is also from My Craft Spot, which I used in shades of Petal Pink and Snow White. The bow is centered with a WOC scalloped pearl.

I used a 3D cone cut file from the Silhouette Online Store for my base, but removed the hearts along the top so I'd have room for my ruffly sheer ribbon. :o) I trimmed it with more roses for a pretty border. Spiraling down the cone is tiny pom trim from JoAnn's, which I paired with a flat-back pearl strand from The Ribbon Girl. A few snowflakes from Cheery Lynn were added at the last minute for extra dimension.
I hope my mom gets as much joy from it as I had creating it. I made it with all of the sparkly Christmas love my heart holds. :o)

Be sure to visit My Craft Spot to see sweet creations from some of my teamies! I hope you can play along with us this week. :o) Thank you for fluttering on by and I wish you a day of love and blessings. :o)

Joy, Hope, and Peace

Hello, sweet friends! I'm sharing some Christmas cheer on the My Craft Spot blog today. :o)

One of the sweetest ways to deliver festive love is with the new Tiny Tags Christmas stamp set! Tiny Tags are innately adorable and I appreciate that Kimberly included both whimsical and divine sentiments for the season.
As many of you know, most of my projects are donated to a beautiful non-profit to bring sparkly love to those in need of extra love and sunshine. The I Feel the Love Project always dedicates our Christmas collections to children (and their parents) who will be spending the holiday in the hospital. This year our love will be sent to a children's hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and this is my newest card for them. Since they cannot be home, I made a decorated house scene to warm their hearts.
The banner is truly the most important part of the card. This is my Tiny Tag version of the prayer flag project! (I am eager to sew an actual one... hopefully soon'ish.) Are you familiar with it? Essentially you create a banner for a particular cause/prayer and hang it outside. As it flutters in the breeze, the prayers of our heart are sent upward to our faithful God. My goal is to create one per month next year for 12 people/organizations in need... it would be such a joy to mail it to them after they've fluttered for a while, as a reminder to them that they are never alone.

For my card, I chose two of my favorite sentiments from this set to encourage the recipients to grow ever closer to the One who can heal the precious child. They are cut out with the coordinating Tiny Tags metal dies and strung with Cherry Red traditional twine.
The exterior of my Impression Obsession Brick House is decorated with rhinestones as Christmas lights and the windows are backed with festive scenes. Naturally my sweet little house is overflowing with love, evidenced by the heart-shaped puffs of smoke from the chimney. ♥︎ The sweet pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The fancy snow drift was made with Marianne Design's Fancy Edge with Lattice die. My card base is made with Cheery Lynn Designs' Horizon Square Boutique Stacker dies and my snowflake background paper is from Papermania's Bellissima Christmas collection. The frolicking deer are from the Memory Box Deer Trio set.

An angled view to better show the embossed house:
Thank you for visiting and I wish you a blessed day! :o)

Christmas Candy Fairy

Hello, sweet friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. :o)

Today I'm sharing my newest contribution for this month's I Feel the Love Project recipients. We are creating cards for kiddos (and their parents) who will be spending Christmas at a children's hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is a privilege to spread some heavenly love to their battling hearts!

(My apologies for the ultra-sparklified and fluffified image... only because I had trouble photographing it properly! Hehe.)
When I saw this darling Christmas Candy Fairy stamp from The Paper Shelter, I had to color it up for one of the precious children. She's irresistibly sweet! I added Glamour Dust to her wings, holly berries, and candy. The trim of her outfit and slippers are covered in Polar White Flower Soft. Fuzzy slippers were a must. :o) The joyous sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Merry & Bright set, one of my favorites. :o) It is stamped upon one of the gorgeous dies from Marianne Design's Petra's Heart collection in Lady Bug Red and Cottage Ivy Memento inks.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, beneath which I nestled sparklified Memory Box and Cheery Lynn Designs snowflakes. I wanted this card to bubble up with all the love I have for this brave child, so I topped it with La-La Land Craft's Heart Doily Border. For textural fun I added a layer of Scarlet Red crinkle ribbon and twine, upon which I added fuzzy jingly bells.

The snowflake paper is from BoBunny, while the rest are from Graphic 45's Nutcracker Sweet collection. For one final layer of love, I used my Martha Stewart Lace Heart Edge punch. Some things went a little willy nilly with this card, but thankfully what truly matters is that my and God's love will soon envelop the beautiful heart for which it was made. :o)

(Okay, so perhaps I could have used a touch less Glamour Dust...)
Thank you for fluttering on by! Have a sweet and sparkly day. :o)

Use Metal at My Craft Spot!

Hello, sweet friends! I hope you had a wonderful first weekend of November! (Eeeep!) Today begins a new challenge at My Craft Spot and this week it's all about metal (Real or Faux)! I personally love metal accents on cards, so I'm excited to see what everyone links up. :o)

It was a tough week for me health-wise, so I'm thankful I was able to squeeze out this little card on time! I'm feeling much better now and am eager to return to normal crafting. :o) (I'm ready to burst, actually!)
For my simple card, I used a couple of my favorite goodies from Kimberly's newest release. :o) And since I love metal so much, I used three types: metal filigree corners from Wild Orchid Crafts, jingly bells, and a snowflake charm. The jolly sentiment is from the O Holy Night stamp set, which I've nestled inside one of the new Shaker Ornaments SVG files. I love these fun files and so many of Kimberly's festive sentiments fit inside. :o)
The shaker is filled with colors from the Berry Red and Christmas Candy sequin sets, along with some crystalline microbeads. I accented my ornament (and the snowy flourishes) with crystal and garnet Recollections rhinestones. I put a ring of Star Dust around the sides of the shaker window (inside and out) for extra sparkle. Chocolate twine serves as my ornament hanger.

The snowflake paper was a freebie from a magazine, which my sweetheart surprised me with a few weeks ago. :o) I paired it with gorgeous patterns from the Teresa Collins Christmas Home collection, which I won from my sweet friend Diana. (Thank you!) The Fancy Flourish die cuts are from My Favorite Things and are topped with snowflakes from Cheery Lynn Designs.
Be sure to visit My Craft Spot to check out the beautiful creations from some of my teamies! Thank you for fluttering on by and I wish you a beautiful day! :o)

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Blog Hop!

Happy Saturday, sweet and sparkly friends! Welcome to the My Craft Spot Blog Hop, where we're celebrating Kimberly's Winter/Christmas release! All of the new stamps are now available for purchase HERE! All of the new SVG files are available at her SVG store HERE! Each stop on the hop is giving away a gift certificate to Kimberly's store to put toward the purchase of your choice! Yay! :o)

I'm your last stop on this celebratory blog hop! You should have arrived here from the amazingly talented Deb of Craftin' Chaos. If you just stumbled upon my blog, flutter on over to Kimberly at My Craft Spot to start from the beginning! You won't want to miss a single stop. :o)

As I've often stated, Christmas is my favorite everything. There's no season my sappy heart loves  more. :o) Kimberly's fabulous release whisked me away to all things warm and fuzzy, so I made a sliding recipe box filled with sweet recipes that my family and I enjoy throughout the Christmas season.
To create my sliding recipe box, I followed THIS tutorial from the fabulous Tara. There will be more of these in my future, that is for certain! (Recipes, encouragement notes, etc! So many options.) For the spine detailing, I used my crop-a-dile and Kimberly's lovely Snow White crinkle ribbon, along with a sparkly snowflake charm.
For my cover, I chose one of my favorite sentiments from this new release, which is from the O Holy Night stamp set. The peace and joy of the holiday season is unlike any other and this gorgeous greeting inspired my project. I opted for a wintry theme in terms of design because precious baking memories begin long before Christmas Day... Christmas in the heart lasts so much longer! My dangling snowflake was made with dies from the Flowers- Daisy set and centered with a tiny rose. I seem to have a thing for this lately! :o)
My recipe box opens up to a vintage winter wonderland, with deliciously sweet memories tucked between Christmas Chalkboard sentiments. The Maja Design-Vintage Frost papers were chosen to warm my mom's heart. :o) Surrounding the recipe list are flourishing snowflakes from the Ornate Labels- Christmas stamp set, along with pretty singular flakes from the Christmas Chalkboard set. (I always love Kimberly's little extras! They're beautiful.)

Note: Just an FYI that I did catch my typo after the fact... I know my pals would kindly tell me so I know to fix it! Thankfully it is easily fixable, but not in time for this hop. Don't you love spotting mistakes after the pictures?!
The recipes slide out like so with the corresponding numbers as guidance. (The numbers are more visible in person.) I altered the tutorial a bit to include a pocket border on the interior edge of the cards, since many of my recipes are more than one card. This way I can nestle them in the lacy pockets when necessary.
Kimberly's chalkboard sentiments are so beautiful, which I've heat-embossed in snowy white. One reason I chose this project was because it enabled me to easily use multiple sentiments. I adore this entire release and had such a hard time narrowing down what to use. :o) I chose the snowy greeting to pair with these darling little girls and puppy...
... and this heavenly one for these sweet kiddos. The frames for both are from the NEW Chalkboard Frames SVG files created to coordinate with this stamp set. The corners are from Joy! Crafts Frame and 3 Corners die set.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, of which I used a combination of Vintage roses, Pink Mist roses, white roses, Lilies, and sweetheart blossoms. Cheery Lynn Designs' Mini Fanciful Flourishes scroll within and I added a sprinkling of pearls. The resin pieces are from Prima (my first!).

You can't have a blog hop without BLOG CANDY, right?! Kimberly is generously supplying each of us with a $10 Gift Certificate to the My Craft Spot Shop to give away! To be eligible to win mine, simply leave me a comment on this post. :o) (I will select and announce the winner on Monday morning!)
