Today, Tomorrow, Always...

Happy Friday, sweet friends! I hope your week has been beautiful. I am posting on the Live & Love Crafts blog today, sharing a card featuring lovely Pion Design papers. I paired a sweet image from Linneaus Botanical Journal with Easter Greetings papers. ♥︎
One of the many things I've learned in my involvement with disease-battling kiddos is that their parents have zero time (or energy) to celebrate their marriage/love. They tirelessly fight for their child's survival every moment. So what I like to include in my boxes of love is a card for the parents to essentially give each other... an easy way for them to give a small gift in the hospital without needing to spend money or leave their child's side.

The Lily of the Valley design felt perfect for this image that celebrates forever love. The sweetness and softness are perfectly Pion. :o) The couple is nestled within a resin Prima Victorian Frame, which is covered in Shabby White Frantage. I kept the overall color palette neutral with sweet pops of peach. The metal die border down the center panel is a Tattered Lace Beloved Border.
These darling pale peach roses were hidden amongst my LLC flowers and I'm grateful I found them yesterday! I love them with this collection. They are generously sprinkled with Glamour Dust. Magnolia Heart Swirls serve as my foliage. Layered atop a seam binding bow are shabby liberty bells tied with Prima Vax Cord. I went a wee bit trim happy with this card down the sides and along the bottom. ♥︎
Melissa Frances Garnish Applique corners adorn the top. Tucked within both flower arrangements are Melissa Frances pearls. The Cheery Lynn butterfly is centered with sparkly peachy love.
The celebration of sweet love continues inside, which is lined with the 12x12 version of the Lily of the Valley design. My sentiment is from Whimsical Designs (no longer in business) and is cut out with a Spellbinders Nested Lacy Pennant.

Thank you for visiting and I wish you a sparkly weekend! ♥︎

  10. Karen, such thoughtfulness you exude. I'm grateful that you share the ideas behind your masterpieces. This time, it is regarding parents who fight for their dear little one, while possibly neglecting what they need of each other in the way of encouragement, understanding and kindness. It's a good reminder, actually, that we all should direct extra attention to our spouses. I know I'm grateful for mine. He is my care-giver and seems to never tire of helping me as needed. We share lots of laughter because a sense of humor is essential with the ups and downs we experience through the disease process, and we share a great deal of respect with a desire to be there for the other. But when parents are dealing with sick children, and the burden of their care is watching them suffer, there is a terrible emotional toll.

Your lovely masterpiece speaks volumes from the tiny little picture - it's romantic, and gentle, and delicate - just like love sometimes needs to be treated.

Well, please forgive my rambling - please know that your posts and artwork always inspire my heart far more than I can convey. I'm sure if your photos do that for me, that you touch many a soul in this blogging journey of ours.

    love,
    de

  18. I feel like I always repeat myself when I leave you a comment, but to be honest that is exactly how I feel. Your layers are always gorgeous, your papers absolutely beautiful, and your embellishments are always so beautifully and elegantly placed together that I always find your cards to be more a work of art than just mere cards. I love this card, Karen, and I know it will be very well received by someone who will definitely need a show of love in their lives while going through these major ordeals with their little ones.
    God Bless
