Vintage Love

Hello, sweet friends! I hope you're having a lovely week. I'm posting on the Live & Love Crafts blog today, where Sandy has given us the theme of "The World is my Oyster."

The theme inspired this card for my mother. In celebration of her birthday, I'm encouraging her to look up toward her future instead of how many decades have passed. The world is *still* her oyster, with plenty of dreams and love for the taking.

This is my first dabble into vintage images! They are so beautiful and make my heart flutter.
My card features lovely Maja Design papers. The majority are from Vintage Autumn Basics, which is one of my favorite collections. The color palette is stunning. I distressed my paper edges a bit, which was a first and great fun!
The Sagen vintage image from their Mix die cut sheet felt perfect for the occasion. Resin corners frame the sweet moment (and also the top of the card). I have been saving these pieces from Prima's Lace Heart collection for ages and am thrilled to finally use them. The added texture and elegance are lovely. The die cut frame is from Joy Crafts' Frame and 3 Corners.
The corner offers a glimpse into the treasures that await my mom. The rolled corner is lined with Madeleine lace, which ruffles atop pink hearts from Maja's Vintage Baby. The butterfly is from Coffee in the Arbour. A pearl heart provides an extra scoop of birthday love. The top border is Joy Crafts' Lace Edge.
Wild Orchid Crafts blooms pair with sparkling beaded pomegranate apples and decoration berries. The flowers have a touch of shimmer from Wink of Stella. Cheery Lynn Designs Mini Fanciful Flourishes scroll beneath. I triple-layered the trims, using Pleat tulle, Valerie lace, and Pearl lace with Beads. My postage stamp sentiment was created with My Craft spot dies and stamps. This was fun to create and I'm excited to give it to my dear mom in a few days. ♥

Thank you for fluttering on by! Have a sweet and sparkly day. :o)

Birthday Gift Box

Happy Friday, sweet friends! I'm posting on the Live & Love Crafts blog today, sharing a festive little creation. The DT is playing with apples and berries this week and you can add me to the list of people smitten with the new beaded pomegranate apples. They're a sweet and sparkly accent.

My mother's birthday is fast approaching and I want to fill it with beauty. I made her a present-shaped box to hold one of her gifts, as she loves pretty packaging. :o)
My box was made from an SVG file by My Craft Spot, which is sadly is no longer in business. Pion Design's My Precious Daughter papers were used throughout, which I paired with an abundance of white and cream embellishments. She loves the elegance of neutrals with a pop of color. A Memory Box Isabella butterfly adorns the front, covered in Glamour Dust with a shadow of hearts. She's delivering birthday love, after all. :o)
Sandy offers a stunning selection of trims, which inspired me to create pretty detailing along the front of the gift. Pearl Lace with Beads lines a layer of Maya Road's Tulle Pleat Trim, which is accented with the smallest Wild Orchid Crafts roses.
They make a lovely textural combination, which I plan to use again for spine detailing or a fancy card. Sandy's shabby seam binding would make a gorgeous criss-cross atop the tulle, but regrettably I don't have any. That will soon be rectified and used next time.
The Vanilla Cupcake pomegranate apples were supposed to have a larger presence today, but my box took a wee bit longer than anticipated... nixing my plan for an accompanying piece. But there are two on each side of my box, nestled within Wild Orchid Crafts apple blossoms, cosmos daisies, sweetheart blossoms, and a rose. A tiny Pion butterfly flutters along a Cheery Lynn Designs Mini Fanciful Flourish on each side.
A view from above to show the sweet wild rose tucked within the pearly bow. :o) I hope my mom enjoys it!

Thank you for visiting and I wish you a beautifully sparkly weekend!
