Hello, sweet friends! Thank you for your faithful support via comments and emails. My family and I appreciate you. :o) I'm posting on the Live & Love Crafts blog today, where Sandy has given us free reign in terms of theme. As much as I adore Christmas and wintry crafting, I couldn't let another week go by without some butterfly love. ♥︎
My encouragement card features papers from Pion Design's Alma's Sewing Room, a stunning collection that Pion has sadly moved to the retired list. If you love these papers as much as I, be sure to get some while you can.
This is for the mother of a terminally ill child... and is made with every ounce of love within my heart. (And even more.) The impossibly lovely blues and florals in this collection are perfect for a dreamy butterfly creation. Layers of Marie Therese and Aurelie Lace are topped with Sunflower Pearl Trim for sweet elegance. A Flatback Pearl String trims the bottom.
The butterfly is centered with Half Pearls and has Pearl Stamen for antennae. Its dark blue layers are from Glistening Season. The resin Prima Victorian Frame is covered in Picket Fence crackle paint, as this card is representative of soaring above brokenness. Aurelie Lace is tucked beneath the rolled corner, while a Melissa Frances decorative corner accents the opposite.
The Wild Orchid Crafts flowers are sprinkled with Glamour Dust and surrounded by Impression Obsession Heart Stems. My sentiment is from Close to My Heart's Find Your Style, cut out with a Spellbinders Lacey Pennant. Although not evident by this picture, the interior is lined with a tonal floral design.

Thank you for fluttering on by and I wish you a beautiful weekend. :o)

Hello, sweet Karen! Your touching card will definitely inspire and encourage the dear child's mother. I felt uplifted as soon as the word SOAR greeted my eyes! Your card is incredible, of course. Lovely soft colors, and the scattering of rising butterflies reminds me that Hope flies in many directions if we have the Faith and Imagination to look outside our limited scope. Thank you for a beautifully Hopeful afternoon, Karen! Love, de

Hi, Karen.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that I haven't visited you earlier, but I am experiencing some issues of my own at present. I just hope and pray things will work out good very soon!
Your beautiful card has picked me up. Just like a tonic in fact. The stunning butterfly set in the frame looks so elegant and the gorgeous detail which you have surrounded the centre piece with is a joy to look at.
I may not be around as much as I would like to be in the forth coming weeks, but I will catch up when I can.
I hope your Christmas was filled with peace and joy my sweet and talented friend and here's hoping that 2016 brings lots of happiness.
Sending lots of big hugs and kisses your way.
Lots of love, Donna xxxx
Just as lovely as can be, Karen! Love the beautiful frame, butterflies, and the lace and pearls! Your creations are always a delight to view! I hope you and family had a wonderful Christmas! And, I'm wishing that you have a New Year filled with many joys and blessings! Take care, hugs!
ReplyDeleteAs you might know; blue is my favourite colour and Alma's Sewing Room collection is very dear to my heart. It's probably my very favourite, sharing the top spot with Studio of Memories, so just like you, I was sad to discover it had been retired. Your card is beautiful; shabby chic elegance at its very best! Love how you've framed the gorgeous butterfly, and the corner is adorable, not to mention how you placed the laces. Thanks for showcasing the LLC products in such a beautiful way.
