Kite Encouragement Card

Happy Friday! And Happy Independence Day to my American crafty friends! I'm posting on the My Craft Spot blog today, but of course am sharing it here, too! :o) This card is part of my contribution for this month's I Feel the Love Project recipients, where we are creating for Friendship Home: an agency that supports victims of domestic violence and their children.

This encouragement card was a joint effort! As I continue to slowly recover from a shoulder and arm injury, my sweetheart is helping me with the parts that involve a lot of arm movement so I can return to crafting. He is an expert with my Big Shot! :o)
I used a few goodies from Kimberly's newest release! The sentiment is one of my favorites, which is from the beautiful Clock Time stamp set. The pretty floral border is part of the Fancy Edges 2 metal die set, which I've trimmed with Light Denim crinkle ribbon.
The kite is an adorable cut file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons, which I accented with pearls. The center one is a pretty heart, as I loved how the pearl design looks like a love-centered cross. :o) I made Traditional Twine bows for extra textural and fluttery fun.
My card base was made with Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles and my Lily Rose papers came with a magazine. (Such gorgeous freebie papers!) Thank you for visiting and have a wonderful day, friends!

Anything Goes at 7 Kids College Fund!

Hello, my dear friends! Unfortunately I have been MIA the past couple of weeks due to an immensely painful arm/shoulder injury. I am attempting to return to craftiness, although it is a very slow process. Expect simplicity from me for a while as it heals. I just can't do very much right now due to pain. :( I can start typing again every day or two, so I will be around to say hi later today!

On a happier note, a new challenge begins today at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog! The Design Team added a twist to our inspiration: Tag It! We would love to see you add the optional twist when you play along with us by either creating a tag or including a tag on your project. :o)

I made a sweet little mason jar tag for a special kiddo. Courtesy of several adorable papers from Doodlebug Designs' Springtime paper pad, I'm sending her a jar of happiness. :o) It is for the July recipient of the I Feel the Love Project, where we are sending love and sunshine to victims of domestic violence and their children.
Isn't this paper precious? It just lights up the heart! Beneath the mason jar lid I added a tiny lacy border trim from the Tattered Lace Beloved Borders die set. The jar itself is embossed in gold for extra sunshiny warmth.

The gorgeous butterfly is one of the new metal die releases from Wild Rose Studio: Little Butterfly! I love that it's two pieces, as it enabled me to use sunny paper for the body and rainbow stripes for the wings. The wings are covered in Star Dust for sparkle. A few Doodlebug Spring Sprinkles enamel dots accent the corner for fun texture. :o)
I also used some My Craft Spot goodies! The mason jar stamp that I used for my tag base is from the Jar Basics stamp set. The sentiment is from Tiny Tags 3, which is cut out with the coordinating Tiny Tags Metal Dies. The bright jute string is Parrot Green, which matches the bright papers so beautifully.

Zip on over to the Challenge Blog to see the lovely work from my teamies and join in the fun! I look forward to seeing what you create. :o) Have a blessed day!

Anything Goes at 7 Kids College Fund!

Happy Wednesday, my sparkly friends! I hope you're having a happy week! :o)

Today begins a new challenge at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog! The theme is Anything Goes, so link up whatever craftiness you're working on!

This week I made an encouragement card with a stylish stamp from Stamping Bella: Uptown Girl Sunny is Stylish! It is part of my contribution for this month's I Feel the Love Project collection, where we are creating for an amazing community center to give encouragement to children and families who utilize their agency, providing shelter, food, clothing. etc. There is also a youth center for ages 4-18, where hot meals are provided, as well as games and computers. I trust there will be a teen girl (or even a sweet mother) who this card is destined for... perhaps one with secret big dreams or simply an affinity for girly girl things. This is to tell her I believe in her and her future!
What a fantastic image to encourage someone to believe in their dreams! She is colored with Copics, except for her suitcase which I paper-pieced for a fun pattern. (I just started practicing coloring folds and pleats... I am a work in progress!) The panel is trimmed with one of the beautiful border dies from the Tattered Lace Beloved Borders set. My background papers are from Echo Park's Be Mine collection, while most of the browns are from Core-dinations
For fashionable French flair, I used my new La-La Land Crafts Eiffel Tower die! Isn't it a beauty? I couldn't resist adding an elegant flourish of flowers and pearls. The Cheery Lynn Designs Mini Fanciful Flourish is decorated with Wild Orchid Crafts roses and a sprinkling of pearls. The corner accent is the lovely La-La Land Crafts Filigree Corner die.

The My Craft Spot sentiment is from the Simply Sentiments stamp set, which worked perfectly for this card. :o) Thank you for fluttering on by! Have a blessed day. :o)

Fancy Edges at My Craft Spot!

Happy Monday, my sweet friends! I hope you had a beautiful weekend! :o)

Today starts a new challenge at My Craft Spot! This week we're playing with fancy edges! I can't wait to see what you create. :o)

I had the girliest of girly cards in mind at the beginning, but then something tugged on my heartstrings. Inspired by the star metal die in Kimberly's new Fancy Edges 2 set, I made a starry superhero card for a sweet boy as part of this month's I Feel the Love Project collection.

In trying and uncertain times, I want one of the precious boys to know that he is a superhero for enduring. :o)
To say I was out of my crafty comfort zone is putting it mildly. ;) But that lovely star edge which Batman stands upon was just calling to me for this exact creation! I layered it so it would stand out despite the alternating black and yellow background. The stars shooting out from him are the cut-outs from the star border die, which are also layered.
My sentiment is from Tiny Tags 2, while the cute starry confetti stamped alongside it is from the new Build A Birthday set. I used two metal dies from the Lacy Banners for its base to make it appear as one of the splash bubble things in comics. :o)

Batman and the sunburst star base are cut files from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I used my Silhouette software to create a card base out of the sunburst cut file, as a star shaped card seemed fitting for a superhero. :o) Everything is popped up with foam tape for lots of dimension. I hope the recipient enjoys it!
Thank you for flying on by! I wish you a sweet and sparkly day! :o)

Birthday Sweetness :)

Hello, sweet friends! I hope you're having a wonderful week. :o) I'm popping in today with a sweet little birthday card for a special kiddo, showcasing some products from 7 Kids College Fund! This is part of my contribution for this month's I Feel the Love Project, soon to be given to a beautiful heart who is going through trying times.

One of my favorite lines carried by 7 Kids is Wild Rose Studio. (As previously stated!) Their stamps are delightful, their papers are beautiful, and their dies are gorgeous! This creation features goodies from one of Wild Rose Studio's newer releases: Squirrel on Branch stamp and Bluebell paper pad!
These coordinating elements are pure sweetness! The stamp is colored with Copics and layered upon one of the dies from the Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles set. Star Dust adds a touch of sparkle to the flowers. The papers in this pad are truly whimsical and beautiful... I didn't want to cover up too much of this one.
La-La Land Crafts' Heart Banner die decorates the corner in festive love, which I've layered and accented with Honeydew twine from My Craft Spot. Two of the heart cut-outs from the banner flutter in the sky for an extra touch of sappiness. My sentiment, which hangs from an added Cheery Lynn Designs flourish, is stamped upon a Spellbinders Standard Circle (Small) and is layered atop a Spellbinders Lacey Circle. This is one of my favorite greetings from My Craft Spot's new Build A Birthday stamp set.

The interior is decorated with another lovely design from the collection:

My Craft Spot Stamp Release Blog Hop!

Hello, my sparkly friends! Welcome to the My Craft Spot Blog Hop, celebrating Kimberly's new release! All of the new goodies are now available for purchase HERE! Each stop on this hop is also giving away one of the new products! YAY!

I'm your last stop for the celebratory hop! You should have arrived here from the sweet and creative Kate of Small Bits of Paper! If you've just stumbled upon my blog, head on over to My Craft Spot to start at the beginning! You won't want to miss a single stop. :o)

One of the many things I love about Kimberly's products is that they often start me on a crafty journey I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. I'm featuring two sentiments from the new Clock Time stamp set in my project today, which they completely inspired. :o)

I made a Double Sliding Lid Box for a loved one, with a surprise message nestled inside.
This box is based upon a tutorial by the supremely talented Tara, with adjustments made to suit my different base shape. I used the gorgeous Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles for my base, top frame, and sliding lids.

I adore so many sentiments from Kimberly's new release, including this one:
I wanted to surround it in nature's beauty, so I broke into my cherished Pion Design Shoreline Treasures papers from Sweden. With only one 6x6 sheet of each, I've been saving them for something special. Kimberly's releases are always special to me, so with a quivering hand I cut into several of them. ;) Every patterned paper is from that collection, as are the fussy-cut butterflies.

The interior is a little trip to the bottom of the sea, where sparkling treasures and wisdom await:
The interior sentiment is also from Clock Time, which is truly a must-have set! I wish I had been able to get a complete shot of the inside, but I was having major photography issues. The sweet fishie scene also has shells and the Prima Say It In Crystals embellishment has additional resin flowers in multiple colors.
The waves of ruffling Light Denim crinkle ribbon on top is also from My Craft Spot. It matched beautifully. :o) The church window lace and flat-back pearl strands are from The Ribbon Girl. All other embellishments are from Michael's and JoAnn's. I hope the recipient enjoys this as much as I do! :o)

You can't have a blog hop without BLOG CANDY, right?! Kimberly is generously giving away the stamp set I used today (Clock Time) to one lucky hopper! To be eligible to win, simply leave me a comment on this post! (I will select and announce the winner on Monday morning!)
