My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party- Day 1!

Welcome to the My Craft Spot Stamp Release party! Each day this week we will be sharing projects to showcase FIVE new stamp sets and THREE new metal die sets! Kimberly will have a giveaway every day this week, so be sure to leave a comment at My Craft Spot to be eligible for the daily prize. You'll also be treated to an abundance of inspiration from the entire team! The party will end with a blog hop celebration on Saturday, where the full release is revealed and prizes will be given at every stop! Kimberly's new goodies will also be available for purchase beginning that day. :o)

Today we are featuring the new Big Sentiments 2 stamp set! This set is so versatile and I love working with the larger sentiments. It covers a variety of themes and the font is delightful! (Throughout the week we will also be showcasing the Big Words metal dies into some of our projects.)

The moment I saw the stamps, I knew I'd be pulling out my Copics! :o)
The sweet sentiment that's sending happy thoughts made me think of this little cutie pie. Honeybee by Elisabeth Bell is sending our love to a precious recipient of this month's I Feel the Love ProjectWhat better way to begin my work with this team than to help cheer up the hospital room (and heart!) of a child fighting serious sickness? I made Honeybee two tiny bows with My Craft Spot Traditional Chocolate twine and used Flower Soft for little poms. The banner is secured with a Wild Orchid Crafts sweetheart blossom.
I opted for whimsical papers filled with nature's beauty, a fluttering border of butterflies from Joy! Crafts (trimmed in Victorian Velvet love), and lots of texture for her little hands to enjoy. The filigree corners are a La-La Land Crafts die.

Nestled in my pocket card is a tiny treat to encourage her as she battles...
Aren't the tiny doilies pretty *and* adorable, all at the same time? They're a sneak peek of more new goodies to be revealed later in the week! I used four different sentiments, but you'll have to wait to see the rest. ;) Petal Pink crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot is layered atop lace and holds a dangling heart charm for an extra touch of healing love.

An angled view for a peek inside and to show the flowers I layered for dimension:
Don't forget to flutter over to My Craft Spot to see the rest of the team's work and leave a comment for a chance to win the Happy Easter stamp set! :o)

Something Special Just For You!

Happy Wednesday, my sweet friends! I hope you're having a beautiful day. :o)

Today I'm showcasing one of my favorite lines carried at 7 Kids College Fund: Wild Rose Studio! It's no surprise that I fell in love with this line, as their image stamps and papers are sheer whimsy. My card was made for this month's I Feel the Love Project collection, soon to be in the hands of a precious hospitalized child at Santa Monica's UCLA Medical Center.

Cake-sharing bunnies make kiddos smile, right? :o)
The adorable image is Bunny with Cake and the lovely papers are from the Butterfly Glade collection. My adoration for butterflies (and purple) put this pad at the top of my wish list and I was elated when it came back in stock. :o) The little bunny (with his fluffy Flower Soft tail) is surrounded in hearts, created using a Heart Confetti Journaling Tag cut file as a stencil. I used Spun Sugar distress ink to immerse the recipient in the sweetest of love.
The happy sentiment is from My Craft Spot's Stamping All Around Spring stamp set, which I've cut out with the coordinating Tiny Doilies Metal Dies. (Yes, I'm still happy dancing from yesterday's news!) Surrounding it is a collection of flowers from the new Memory Box release Adorable Posies. For an extra dose of healing love, Precious Hearts accent the corner and are centered with heart-shaped rhinestones. The shimmery ribbon is from SEI.

Inside is one of my favorite papers from the collection, ready to flutter into the dear child's heart:

I pray that this little card delivers endless love! :o) Thank you for hopping on by and I wish you a sweet and sparkly day! :o)

Happy News!!!

Happy Tuesday, my sparkly friends! :o) I am ecstatic to tell you that I am the newest My Craft Spot designer! My excitement truly goes beyond words. (Coming from me, you know that's huge!) It is an enormous blessing to join this talented team and I am eager to showcase Kimberly's fantastic products. You all already know how much I love using them. They inspire me. :o)

I wish I had a new project to celebrate the occasion, but I've been tucked away in my crafty space preparing for next week's New Release festivities! (Sneak Peeks begin Monday! Yay!) Instead, I'm sharing just a few of the projects I made last year with her stamps. :o)

First is my all-time favorite project, created in December for my Guest Designer day at My Craft Spot! :o)
This easel card was made for a lovely girl named Alana, who was enduring devastating loss from Hurricane Sandy.
A sweet parasol card for a mother coping with the struggles of raising a child with severe health ailments:
Lastly, a fun card for a little boy who had just lost his father. Beach outings were a family staple, so this was to honor those memories.
I am thrilled for this new adventure and look forward to sharing my heartfelt creations at My Craft Spot! :o) Thank you for fluttering on by! Have a beautiful day. :o)

Anything Goes at 7 Kids College Fund!

Happy Wednesday, my treasured friends! I hope you're enjoying a sunshiny day. :o)

Today starts a new challenge at the 7 Kids Challenge Blog! The theme is Anything Goes, so join in with whatever your heart desires! For this challenge, I decided to create something different for me... a tag! It's a beautiful avenue to showcase lovely paper, such as Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments. I made it for someone who adores all things vintage, with a touch of whimsy.
I think it's important in a crafty journey to step outside of your comfort zone sometimes, and this was the case for me! I adore tags but struggle with them. I drew inspiration from the paper pad itself, with the sweet designs and gorgeous postage stamps guiding me. The tag base is a gorgeous Marianne Design Decorative Tag metal die (LR0154). The bottom detailing is so pretty. (Sadly, the easel makes it less obvious at first glance.)

I used both sides of an elegant paper from the collection to create a whimsical 3D heart, being careful to let two butterflies show from the front. They are fluttering to each other, drawn by sparkly love. The heart cut file is part of a nested scalloped hearts set in the Silhouette Online Store, of which I cut five of the smallest. For the arrow, I used the versatile Marianne Design Anja's Vintage Ornaments 2 metal die set. I've used this die for hinges, tabs, and now an elegant arrow. It is sponged with Victorian Velvet distress ink and adorned with pearls.

The pretty lace and pearl trim are from Wild Orchid Crafts, as is the sweetheart blossom. The blossom is lightly inked with Victorian Velvet to coordinate with the tag.

A tiny bit closer peek, where the softer hues are much more accurate:

You have two weeks to play along with us, so I hope you'll share your creations at the Challenge Blog! We love visiting you! Have a blessed and sparkly day. :o)

With Love

Happy Wednesday, my sparkly and sweet friends! I hope you're having a lovely week. :o)

A new month means a new recipient of the treasured I Feel the Love Project! Each month we have the privilege of making cards for those in need of extra love and sunshine. I have the hardest time sleeping the last night of each month, as I'm so eager to discover who will be inspiring my creations over the following several weeks.

This month is extra special, as a former recipient of our crafty love has chosen the new recipients! Sweet Ashley (for whom I made my first ever mini album last year) has asked us to create for the Pediatric Floor of Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center, where she herself has received treatment as she battles a rare form of cancer.

My heart already has several cards aching to come to fruition for the children, but I was inspired to begin with a different angle. From following Ashley's progress, I've discovered (time and again) how grateful she is for the staff that serves with all of their might to help her during her many visits over the last year. They love her dearly and that love is so clearly reciprocated. Since we are creating in her honor this month, I thought it would be nice to squeeze in a couple of cards for the selfless staff for whom she cares deeply.

Blossoming with love is Sylvia Zet's sweet Rosetta, the flower fairy. :o)
Beautiful Rosetta is colored with Copics (listed below), with accents of Star Dust and rhinestones to sparklify the big hearts of the hospital staff. Seeing as she is a flower fairy after all, I had no choice but to surround her with an abundance of nature's beauty. :o) My Wild Orchid Crafts flower arrangements include sweetheart blossoms, cosmo daisies, a regular rose, and a cottage rose. One bouquet is adorned with vintage cream seam binding and pearl sprays (also from WOC), while the other is bubbling up with pearly love via heart stick pins.

Desiring paper as whimsical and flowery as Rosetta, I opted for Wild Rose Studio's Vintage Rose collection. It's delightful! :o)

The sweet sentiment:
The Cheery Lynn Designs heart is cut out with a gorgeous brown rose paper from the same pad... every time I see it I think of chocolate roses. I would love to give them all things sweet! :o) I created the banner and made it wavy, as it's ruffling with fluttery love. One heartfelt prayer, fluttering up to the heavens, is all it takes to restore a life. There was supposed to be a butterfly on this card, with a trail of sparkling memories of healed lives in that hospital, but in my rush I forgot. :( (Unbelievable.) The sentiment is from Close to My Heart.

For extra love from my and Ashley's hearts, I used a Martha Stewart Lace Heart punch for the middle panel's base. Love is timeless, and that's how I view each lacy heart. Every day the staff in the pediatric unit shares the love and strength found from within, encouraging those who are battling for their lives. While Ashley was sure to show them her gratitude, I can't help but want to do the same. I'm so thankful for the love they show Ashley and every child on that floor. Their work is tireless and it's my hope that this flowery, sappy, and sweet card, overflowing with heart, reminds them they are loved.

A glimpse inside, which is lined with a coordinating paper from the same collection:
